How it's calculated

Gross PnL = position size × price move (signed by direction). Fees = (entry notional + exit notional) × fee rate. Net PnL = gross − fees. ROI = net PnL ÷ margin, where margin = notional ÷ leverage.

Worked example

Long 0.5 BTC at $60,000, closed at $63,000. The $3,000 move gives a gross PnL of 0.5 × $3,000 = $1,500. Round-trip fees at 0.055% on ~$61,500 of notional are about $34, so net PnL ≈ $1,466. Opened at 10× leverage, your margin was $30,000 ÷ 10 = $3,000 — an ROI of roughly 49%.

FAQ

Why is my ROI so much bigger than the price move?
Leverage. ROI here is measured against the margin you posted, not the full position value. A 5% price move on a 10× position is a ~50% return on margin — and a ~50% loss just as easily.
Does this include funding costs?
No — it covers trading fees on entry and exit. For the funding paid or earned while you hold a perpetual position, use the funding cost calculator.
